HemoCue 301 System
Fast, accurate hemoglobin testing for point‑of‑care settings.
- SPECIFICATION FOR HEMOGLOBINOMETER
- Storage for the HemoCue®
- Once the vial is opened the microcuvettes are stable for three months. Always keep the vial closed
Overview
The HemoCue 301 System provides rapid, laboratory‑grade hemoglobin measurement from capillary, venous or arterial whole blood. With a 10 µL sample and result in about 10 seconds, it supports high‑throughput point‑of‑care testing without sacrificing accuracy.
Factory‑calibrated against the International Council for Standardization in Haematology (ICSH) reference method, the analyzer delivers a correlation of 0.99. It operates from AC power or batteries, weighs only 500 g, and functions reliably from 10‑40 °C.
Key Features
- Measurement range 0‑25.6 g/dL (0‑256 g/L)
- 10 µL sample volume with results in ~10 seconds
- Double‑wavelength (506 nm/880 nm) absorbance for turbidity compensation
- Built‑in self‑test and liquid control verification
- Printer and PC interface for immediate data capture
- Factory‑calibrated, no user calibration required
- Compact, lightweight design (500 g) with battery option
- Microcuvettes stable for three months after opening
Applications
- Hospital wards and emergency departments
- Clinical diagnostic laboratories
- Blood banks for donor screening
- University and research institute studies

| Hb 301 Analyzer | The microcuvettes are to be stored at 10-40 °C (50-104 °F). |
| Short | term storage (6 weeks) -18-50 °C (0.4 - 122 °F). |
| Principle | Hemoglobin concentration is determined by measuring the absorbance of whole blood at an Hb/HbO2 isobestic point. This method correlates well with the reference method for hemoglobin determination (the ICSH method). The analyzer uses a double wavelength measuring method, 506 nm and 880 nm, for compensation of turbidity. |
